DescriptionAtypique. Tel est le premier mot qui vient à l'esprit pour définir Tribeqa... Jugez en par leur formation: balafon - batterie - contrebasse - guitare électro-acoustique - turntables; La dimension que le groupe a pris en live est elle aussi atypique: Le public ressort de leurs concerts... déconcerté par l'intensité du plaisir ressenti, l'énergie et la fraicheur de ce groupe.
Multiculturel serait un deuxième qualificatif. Les sonorités et rythmiques africaines du balafon, celles urbaines du DJing (featuring DJ Greem de Hocus Pocus), l'esprit jazz, la flûte de Magic Malik , la voix soul de Da*j*la,... toutes ces influences s'entrecroisent pour vous envoûter, à l'image du jeu de Joss et ses quatre baguettes sur son fameux balafon.
Tout ceci fait de Tribeqa un projet comme vous n'en avez jamais entendu, un afro-soul-jazz inédit et rafraichissant.
Tribeqa is above all non typical, as their formation is: balafon - drums - babybass - electro-acoustical guitar - turntables... or as the power of the band in live: after their shows, the people are totally taken aback by the depth of their pleasure, the energy and the freshness of the band.
Then, Tribeqa is multicultural too. African echoes, created by the balafon, are mixed with urban ones due to the DJing (featuring DJ Greem from Hocus Pocus). Add to this their jazz state of mind, Magic Malik's flûte, the soul music in Da*j*la's voice... all these influences criss-cross to practise sympathetic magic on you, like when you're attending Joss' play on his famous balafon with his four sticks.
The result is Tribeqa: a project like you have never heard before, an unprecedent and refreshing afro-soul-jazz music.
